Ingredients M&M Flower Cake Pops:

1 Bag of Plain M&M’s
1 Bag of Peanut M&M’s
1 Tub of Frosting
1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Dark Chocolate Chips
1 Package of green paper straws
1 Box Chocolate Cake Mix (Cake pop recipe)
(For the cake mix I use 1 less egg and used milk instead of water for the perfect moist cake pops)

How to Make M&M Cake Pop Flowers:

1. First bake your cake pops according to your cake pop maker directions. Mine requested bake for 5 min, but I baked mine for 4 1/2 minutes. The cake pops turned out more moist. Once they are done, place them in the fridge or freezer to cool before decorating.

2. Now the fun part decorating those pops. Take one of the paper straws dip it in chocolate or frosting and then place the cake pop on the straw.

1. Melt the chocolate in a small jelly jar in the microwave at first 30 sec then stir. Place back in microwave for 11 sec and stir until fully melted. Tip: placing the chocolate chips in a small jelly jar makes it so easy to dip and cover the cake pops. Tip: Put the M&M’s in the freezer while baking the cake pops. This will help them set faster.

2. Cover the cake pop in chocolate. Start with the center and place six brown plain M&M’s flat with one in the middle and make a circle around.

3. The peanut M&M’s are a little heavier, so dip them in the chocolate and then attach them to around the outside of the cake pop. This is when the frozen M&M’s will set faster.

1. Cover the cake pop in frosting. I used green frosting, but you could use red. I chose red M&M’s for red roses.

2. Start with the top of the cake pop and place plain M&M’s sideways, so they are sticking out a little.

3. Now create two circles of plain red M&M’s sticking them in sideways.

4. Place large red peanut M&M’s on the outside edge to create a rose.

How to Make Daisy Cake Pop:

1. Cover the cake pop in frosting. With the same technique as the roses.

2. Start with the top of the cake pop and place plain M&M’s sideways, so they are sticking out a little.

3. Place plain M&M’s on the outside for the petals. Choose colors of the bouquet flowers for the person whom you are giving the gift.

Now let’s put it all together in a cute little flower pot to give as a gift. I cut a large styrofoam ball to fit inside a plant pot. First I covered the ball in green frosting. Then I dyed some coconut green and sprinkled it on top to look like grass. I placed some brown plain M&M’s around the base to look like dirt. I dressed up the pot a little with some washi tape. Then push the straws with the flower cake pops into the styrofoam to make an arrangement of flower cake pops.

I highly recommend you make these flower cake pops as soon at you buy the M&M’s. I bought mine a few days before and the peanut M&M’s were gone before I started working on these cake pop flowers. I had to go back and get another bag. I now know M&M’s do not last long here. I found my bags of M&Ms on the end of the candy aisle at Walmart. There are so many varieties to choose from to make these flower cake pops.
