Saucy Roast Beef and Cheese Sliders | The Secret Recipe Club (1)

Good morning! 😀 If you’re new to my blog, today is “reveal day” for a super fun club of bloggers that I belong to, that, once a month, are assigned another blogger in the club. The names are exchanged and assigned secretly, so no one knows who they have until reveal day! Which is always exciting! We each make a recipe from our secretly assignedperson, review the recipe, and provide enticing photos to help each other to get the word out about each other’s blogs! 😀 It’s a win-win situation as I get to try a new recipe each month, meet a fellow lover of cooking and food, and share it with you all; and in turn, someone makes, reviews and sharesmyrecipe and blog as well! 😀

This month, my assigned secret blogger is a VERY busy mom from the same state that my Grandparents lived in for many years, the beautiful state of Missouri! Her name is Nicole, ( Hi, Nicole! 😀 ), and I cannot even IMAGINE how she does it all! Wowzers!!! She is a mom of…ready for this?

FIVE – – – teenagers!! Yes…..five TEENAGERS. (Insert “OMG!” face here. 😉 ) Should we all pitch in and send her a bottle of wine and amasseuse? I dunno, what do you think? Seriously though, can you imagine what her grocery bill must be like? I need her to send me a copy to show my hubby, as I thinkthere’d be a little less complaining around my kitchen. 😉

Nicole has a wonderful down-home blog called, “Daily Dish Recipes“, that concentrates on making good,homemade-from-scratch comfort food recipes filled with love for her full house of “I’m staving to death” teens!Besides cooking, (this woman is a saint!), Nicole also finds time to craft, and enjoys growing a wonderful variety of fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits including my favorite… strawberries! 😀 (My Grandpa had a huge strawberry patch, too! 😀 ) When wewere kids, summer officiallystarted when you had fresh-picked strawberry juice running down your chin! 😉 😀

Though I normally have a difficult time deciding what to make from my secret blogger’s stash of recipes, I swooped in like a seagull on anamateur Disney tourist’s Mickey Bar when I saw Nicole’s recipe for “Saucy Roast Beef and Swiss Sliders“!My mouth instantly watered and I knew I just had to try these! 😀 I LOVE her take on the old classic ham ones, that I shamefully have still not ever tried yet. (Am I the last person on the planet to have never tried them?) EVERYone, but me, seems to have either made them, or at least had them, at one function or another! But Nicole’s version using roast beef, our favorite! 😉 , finally pushed me over the edge! 😉

OK. I was finally going to see what all the fuss has been about! 😀

After venturing through Nicole’s other recipes, I wanted to share a few more of hers that made my tummy growl, that will I’m sure, entice you to check out her blog, too! 🙂 Perfect for the upcoming Christmastimeholiday, especially for it’s pretty red and green color, her Salmon Bites with Herbed Cream Cheese would be fantastic on an appetizer tray! And her Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Truffles will definitely be a new addition to my sweets tray and gift bags! Her Holiday Pork Roast with Red Wine Mushroom Gravy looks to die for, and her Grilled Corn with Herbed Butter made me long for my own hometown and state of Illinois! 😀 (Plus many years of living in Indiana as well!) Like Dorothy says, “There’s no place like home!” 😉

And now, here’s the recipe that I chose to make for this month’s challenge! 😀 Though I sadly was never blessed with being able to have children, I have a hubby that’s a wonderfully hearty eater and a former Navy Seal that I love to cook for! After the last sliders that I made just a few weeks ago, (here), we both learned that scaling down recipes like this would simply have to make more than just a half of a batch for the two of us! (I was afraid that making the full 24 might be a bit too many.) So as luck found us, my hubby brought home a new “Family-Sized” bag of Hawaiian Rolls that contained 18! Perfect for the two of us to be able to enjoy at least two to three meals apiece this time!

The last time, he inhaled EIGHT out of twelve sliders faster than a hot knife through butter.

Lesson learned. 😉

These sliders by Nicole turned out crazy delicious, and was a very nice take on the popular classic! And now that I have tried her version, I’m not sure I really even need to try the original ham ones, as I don’t think that they could possibly compare to these! Nicole really did a wonderful job of making these her own! 😀

So if you enjoy the old ham version, I’m sure you will flip over these! The only thing I did differently, was to use co-jack cheese on them instead, as my hubby doesn’t care for swiss, and made the recipe for 18 sliders (due to him purchasing their new Family-Sized bag for his insatiable appetite! No complaints here! 😉 Iactually got to enjoy more than just two this time, even after saving two for the next day, which, yep…somehow managed to “disappear”. (I’m sure Nicole, living with a houseful of teenagers, cansympathize! 😉 ) 18 worked out much better this time! (But I bet I wouldn’t get any complaints if I made Nicole’s whole entire batch!)

Oh, and I did add a bit of kale on the bottoms, too, which worked out nicely and the kale was just right after baking! A bit more tender than “raw”, but still had a delicate, light crunch! 😉

So, if there are more than two people in your household, just go ahead and make heroriginal amount of 24! Trust me that they won’t go to waste! 😉 These would be fantastic for all the football and Super Bowl parties coming up, New Year’s Eve parties, or even just as a fun night for your family as we did! 😀

So I hope that you have enjoyed not one, but two Secret Recipe Club recipes this month this time! 😀 Be sure to keep these fantastic sliders in mind for upcoming events! They’re super easy to make, have wonderful flavor, and disappear like magic!

Thank you very much, Nicole, for a wonderful and fun meal that we’ll enjoy for years to come!I really had a blast making them! 😀

Take care all, and I’ll see you tomorrow! 😀 ~Kelly
