Pineapple Lemonade Recipe (1)

During the summer nothing is better than lemonade or is there? We are huge fans of lemonade and love making this healthy twist on the traditional. With our Pineapple Lemonade there’s no added sugar, just the natural sweetness from the pineapple!

HOW TO MAKE PINEAPPLE LEMONADE

Wash and cut a pineapple.

Pineapple Lemonade Recipe (3)

Place the pineapple, lemon juice, and ice into the blender.

Blender until everything is smooth.

Pineapple is loaded with Vitamin CandManganese. It also contains vitamins B6, B1, Fiber, Folate and Copper.

Just one cup of this tropicalfruit is about 80 calories. It’s great for inflammation and bromelain makes it good for digestion.

There’s no need for any added sugar in ourPineapple Lemonade Recipe. The tart lemon gives you that traditional lemonade taste and the pineapple sugars mellow it out.

If you don’t like the tartness from regular lemons you can use the sweeter Meyer Lemons. We use small glass bottles if we’re serving to friends and family. If it’s just for us, we pour it into a large mason jar and drink it through a stainless steel strawor glass straw.

You can buystainless steel straws online in different varieties, we even have ones with a slight bend like you see used in our Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothierecipe.

If you can’t enjoy all of the pineapple lemonade you can freeze for later too!

RECIPE NOTES:

  • If you don’t want it too tart you can use 1 lemon instead of two or try Meyer lemons.
  • Freeze any leftovers into lemonade popsicles!

How do you know your pineapple is fully ripe?

    Reply

    • Pineapple Lemonade Recipe (25)Courtney

We like to select a fresh looking pineapple with the leaves still green. The pineapple should be firm and not soft. Some tend to think that a pineapple must be yellow for it to be ripe, however a green pineapple can even be ripe! Most pineapples in the stores are usually ripe, unless their squishy, then they’re overripe. 🙂 When we buy them we tend to keep on the counter for up to 2 days then refrigerate if we don’t use by then.

    • Pineapple Lemonade Recipe (30)Courtney

It will be at least 20oz, but it all depends on how big your pineapple is, how much juice you get from your lemons and how much ice you use. 🙂

I’m sure a dumb question but could we use canned pineapple. I am sure not as good as fresh but with everything going on right now it saves a trip to the store.

These are some crazy times and I completely get it! You can definitely try it! It will have more of the canned pineapple taste rather than a fresh pineapple taste. I’ve been buying more frozen fruits and veggies because they have a fresher taste than canned. Best wishes and stay safe <3

I’d say about 1/8-1/4 cup, but it depends on how tart you like it. 🙂

Just discovered this and looking forward to making the recipe. How much frozen pineapple should be used? Are the nutritional notes (31g sugar) based on a serving or the full recipe? Thanks!

    Reply

    • Pineapple Lemonade Recipe (37)Courtney

      Hi Esti!

There are approximately 4 1/2 cups per pineapple when using fresh so I’d do about 4 cups of frozen pineapple. For the nutrition, it’s per serving and there are 3 servings. 🙂
